Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Undergraduate Research Assistantships | Undergraduate Honors Thesis Advising

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Undergraduate research assistants will work collaboratively with Dr. Wallace to support multiple aspects of the research process. Examples include, but are not limited to: (a) schedule participant interviews; (b) conduct participant interviews, (c) facilitate transcription services, (d) engage in reflective conversations about the data, (e) maintain secure and organized data storage procedures;  (f) prepare conference proposals.

VALUABLE SKILLS

  • Familiarity and/or willingness to learn how to use diverse multimedia platforms (e.g.,  Google Drive Tools, GoogleCalendars, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox)
  • Ability to organize and complete several time-sensitive tasks
  • Positive and collaborative communication skills
  • Ability to hear, listen, mindfully respond, and maintain confidentiality of diverse perspectives
  • Respect for the rigor and complexity educational research demands

POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

  • Prepare academic conference proposals and/or manuscripts for publication informed by research experience
  • Mentorship related to research interests, academic journey, career aspirations
  • Undergraduate research credit hours
  • Externally funded support (depends on project, interests, and time commitment)
