Graduate research assistants will work collaboratively with Dr. Wallace to support and/or initiate multiple aspects of the research process. Examples include, but are not limited to: (a) generate new research questions; (b) prepare IRB applications; (c) project-driven data collection, (d) engage in reflective conversations about the data collection and analysis, (e) maintain secure and organized data storage procedures; (f) prepare conference proposals; (g) explore, read, and glean insight from interdisciplinary scholarship; (h) prepare manuscripts for publication; (i) fine tune academic writing skills.
VALUABLE SKILLS
Familiarity and/or willingness to learn how to use diverse multimedia platforms (e.g., Google Drive Tools, GoogleCalendars, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox)
Ability to organize and complete several time-sensitive tasks
Positive and collaborative communication skills
Ability to hear, listen, mindfully respond, and maintain confidentiality of diverse perspectives
Respect for the rigor and complexity educational research demands
Self-motivated to take action on ideas, questions, and outcomes that inherently materialize as a result of scholarly inquiry
Willingness to think-with and act-on complex, messy, non-linear ideas
POSSIBLE OUTCOMES:
Prepare academic conference proposals and/or manuscripts for publication informed by research experience
Mentorship related to research interests, academic journey, career aspirations
Dissertation advising and research credit hours
Externally funded support (depends on project, interests, and time commitment)
