MARIA WALLACE, PH.D.

"3 Before ME"

Dr. Wallace provides several resources for students on USM's Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas, Microsoft Teams, in addition to maintaining regular email communication about reminders and resources.

As such, she expects students to use a simple approach that is inspired from her days as an elementary science teacher:  "The 3 Before Me Policy".
Prior to contacting Dr. Wallace, students should first try to answer their own question through one of the three mechanisms below:
  1. Check Canvas or Teams (modules, pages, assignments, etc.).
  2. Review past emails or announcements from Dr. Wallace.
  3. Ask a peer.
If at that point, students still have a question then they are encouraged to contact Dr. Wallace for further guidance or schedule a time to meet.
